JLR Aero, LLC was founded in 2022 by an industry veteran with over five decades of experience in aerospace manufacturing and engineering. Our founder’s career began in 1972 with an apprenticeship in patternmaking, where he honed his skills in the sand-casting industry. By 1980, as the foundry industry began to slow, he was approached by an aerospace company to assist with composite tooling for a drone project. This marked the beginning of our focus on aerospace tooling, and by 1985, we were producing composite parts for major aerospace companies, including Boeing, where we initially specialized in composite ducting for environmental control systems before expanding to structural and non-structural composite components.

After the company was acquired by a UK-based competitor in 2007, our founder continued to contribute to the aerospace sector for another five years. In 2014, he transitioned to the aircraft interior design and build industry, specializing in crew rest solutions. His career then led him to a role in designing and building wind tunnel models for major aerospace clients, including NASA, SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.

In 2018, after a brief retirement, our founder decided to return to the industry, determined to continue contributing to the aerospace sector. This led to the establishment of JLR Aero, LLC with a core focus on business development for smaller engineering, tooling, and composite manufacturing companies.
